Austin takes a tumble in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings following their 21-14 loss to Sparkman last week. After being ranked as high as No. 5 in 7A, the Black Bears (4-1) fall to No. 10 this week.
Decatur Heritage (3-2) is the only other team in the county ranked this week. The Eagles stay at No. 7 following their 61-18 victory over Shoals Christian last week.
Falkville is the only other county team to be mentioned in this week’s rankings. The Blue Devils (4-0) was the highest vote-getter to not be ranked in Class 2A.
Austin has an off-week while Decatur Heritage plays their first home game of the season against Woodville and Falkville travels to Cold Springs.
