Austin, following their 42-28 win over then No. 6 James Clemens on Friday night, remained at No. 5 in 7A in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings that were released on Tuesday night.
Decatur Heritage remained at No. 7 in Class 1A following their 47-8 win on the road at Vina.
Falkville received 13 votes in the Class 2A rankings but fell just short of being ranked. Region foe, North Sand Mountain, is ranked No. 10 and picked up two more votes than the Blue Devils.
Austin (4-0, 2-0) is on the road at Sparkman (2-2, 2-0) and Decatur Heritage travels to Shoals Christian (1-1, 1-0) on Friday night. Falkville has a bye this week.
