The Austin Black Bears (1-0) moved into the Class 7A Top 10 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Rankings. They are ranked 10th just behind James Clemens, who is ranked 9th.
Decatur Heritage (0-1) is the only other Morgan County team to be ranked. They are No. 7 in the Class 1A poll.
Priceville and Falkville both received votes in their classification. The two teams will open the season on Thursday night as Priceville travels to Brewer (0-1) and Falkville hosts Danville (1-0).
