Blue Devils fall on the road at Aliceville in Class 2A playoffs’ second-round

ALICEVILLE — The Falkville Blue Devils traveled to Aliceville for a second-round matchup with the No. 4 ranked Yellow Jackets. Aliceville ended the Blue Devils' season with a 38-22 win.

Quarterback Caden Burnett put the Blue Devils up 7-0 with a nine-yard run in the first quarter. However, Aliceville answered with two second-quarter touchdowns to take a 16-7 lead at the half.

The Yellow Jackets increased their lead to 28-7 midway through the third.

Burnett tried to rally the Blue Devils with a four-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Warnick, but it came a little too late.

Burnett finished 6-of-16 passing for 136 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 31 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Warnick caught three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown, while Lawson Tew ran for 84 yards on 17 carries and had two catches for 47 yards.
