Bulldogs break loose in 48-21 win over Madison County

The Priceville Bulldogs offense finally got untracked as they rolled up over 500 yards of total offense in their 48-21 win over the Madison County Tigers to open 4A Region 8 play last Friday.

The Bulldogs were held to 207 yards in their opening week loss to Plainview and just 144 yards in their loss to Fairview before amassing 511 yards in their week two victory.

Blitz Clemons had the breakout game that many Bulldog fans were looking for as he piled up a career-high 161 yards and three touchdowns to lead Priceville to the win. Riley Wagg added 120 yards and a score on 14 carries.

“I felt like our offensive line did a great job imposing their will on Madison County,” Priceville head coach Chris Foster said. “Any time two different guys go over 100 yards rushing, the line is doing a great job creating running lanes for them.”

Priceville opened the game with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jake England to Brody Collins to take a 7-0 lead. After Madison County tied the game at 7-7, Clemons pushed the Bulldogs’ lead to 21-7, scoring on runs of two yards and three yards in the second quarter. The Tigers added a touchdown right before the half to cut the lead to 21-14.

The Bulldogs’ lone score of the third quarter came on a 20-yard touchdown run by England, pushing their lead to 28-14 heading into the fourth quarter.

Clemons scored his third touchdown on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 35-14. After Madison County cut the lead to 35-21, Priceville sealed the victory with a 21-yard touchdown run by Riley Wagg and a nine-yard run by Bronson Carroll.

Carroll had 88 yards rushing and a score on nine carries.

England finished with 97 yards rushing and a score on 13 carries while passing for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Priceville (1-2, 1-0) will travel to DAR (0-3, 0-1) to continue region play on Friday.
