Danville opened area play with a dominant 55-29 win at Vinemont on Friday night.
The Hawks hit five three-pointers in the first half as they raced out to a 32-19 halftime lead.
The defense took over in the second half as they held Vinemont to a total of 10 points, seven in the third and only three in the fourth.
Dylan Parker led the Hawks (5-3) with 16 points and seven rebounds. KJ Melson finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Aaron Alexander scored nine points, while Kohl Randolph added seven points and five rebounds.
Vinemont (2-5) was led by Collin Teichmiller and Isaac Moody, who scored six points apiece.
