Hood’s buzzer beater gives Priceville 57-55 victory over West Morgan

TRINITY – The Priceville Bulldogs picked up their second area win of the season by defeating West Morgan 57-55.

The Bulldogs, who led by as many as seven in the fourth quarter, saw West Morgan’s Ashton Owens tie the game at 55-55 with less than seven seconds remaining.

Priceville’s Seth Hood took the inbounds pass and raced the full length of the floor and hit a lay-up over two West Morgan defenders as the buzzer sounded to win the game 57-55.

The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game, 24-23, with four seconds left in the first half.

They extended their lead out to 35-25 with 4:40 left in the third. West Morgan closed the quarter on an 11-6 run to cut the lead to 41-36 heading into the fourth.

Priceville (5-17, 2-4) was led by Hood, who finished with 19 points. Elijah Hopkins added 10 points and four steals. Chris Thomas had eight points and ten rebounds while Trey Summers scored eight and pulled down six rebounds.

West Morgan (13-11, 2-4) had three players finish in double digits. They were led by Owens, who scored 19 points and had seven rebounds. Jakobe Fletcher added 18 points and Carson Muse had 10 points.
