Tigers drop three at the Metro Tournament

The Tigers traveled to Homewood for a first round with Spain Park at the Metro Tournament. Hartselle (9-9) trailed 15-9 following the first quarter before cutting the lead to 24-22 at the half. The Jaguars extended their lead to 39-33 heading into the final quarter.

Markus Tapscott led the Tigers with 14 points and four steals. Kohl Key added 12 points. Rylan Smothers had seven points, while Ty Odom had four points and five assists.

Hueytown boys 84, Hartselle 40
Smothers scored a team-high 11 points for Hartselle at the Metro Tournament in an 84-40 loss to Hueytown. Dawson Seal added nine points, while Odom scored eight points.

Baker 68, Hartselle 56
Smothers scored a game-high 21 points for Hartselle in a game played at Homewood. Odom had 18 points for the Tigers, while Tapscott added nine points.
