Ward comes off the bench to lead West Morgan past Priceville

FALKVILLE – Dylan Ward came off the bench to lead West Morgan to a 66-50 victory over Priceville at the Morgan County Tournament.

Ward finished with 17 points including 10 straight in the second as the Rebels extended a 2-point first-quarter lead to 14 at halftime. He hit four of West Morgan’s nine made three-pointers.

Trey Summers kept Priceville close in the first quarter with seven of the team’s 11 points. He finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

West Morgan continued to push the tempo and build on their lead in the third quarter. They outscored Priceville by five to lead 54-35 heading into the final quarter.

Ashton Owens added 17 points for West Morgan while Skyler Hutto had 16. Carson Muse pulled down eight rebounds.

Priceville was led by Seth Hood, who finished with 22 points while Chris Thomas added six points and 12 rebounds.

UP NEXT: West Morgan (12-9) moves on to face the second seed Danville (14-6) on Friday night at 7:45 pm at Falkville High School. The two teams played last Friday with the Rebels coming away with a 73-61 victory.
