Brewer trio signs scholarships to continue their basketball careers

FLORETTE – Brewer’s Jacie Andrews, Evaiah Burrows, and Leisha Steger each signed college scholarships to continue their playing careers beyond high school.

Andrews and Burrows signed with Falkner University, a member of the NAIA, while Steger signed with Montevallo, a Division II member.

Andrews is averaging 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game during the 2019-20 season. Burrows is averaging 12.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.4 steals. Steger averages 6.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.

“This is an exciting moment for Brewer High School,” said coach Jeff Andrews. “A lot of time and effort has paid off with these scholarships.”

Steger will join former teammate McCarley Northway when she joins the Lady Falcons later this year.

The trio has played for the Lady Patriots since their freshman year. They have helped Brewer to 94 wins, a Final Four appearance, and two Northeast Regional finals in their four years.
