Danville opened area play with a 48-41 road victory at Vinemont Friday night.
Danville, who trailed 9-8 after the first quarter, outscored Vinemont 21-9 in the second quarter to grab a 29-18 lead at halftime.
Vinemont cut the lead to 36-29 heading into the fourth quarter but was unable to get any closer as the Hawks maintained the seven-point margin at the final horn.
The Hawks (3-5) had three players score in double digits, led by Elisabeth Hand who scored a game-high 14 points. Blayne Godfrey added 12 points, while Brityan Godfrey finished with 11.
Vinemont (1-8) was led by Maggie Burks, who finished with 11 points, while Abigail Young added 10.
