HANCEVILLE – Hartselle turned a two-point 3rd quarter deficit into a four-point victory of Deshler at the New Year’s Bash hosted by Wallace State.
Hartselle (11-9) led 29-28 at halftime before being outscored 22-19 in the third to trail 50-48.
Masyn Marchbanks scored 11 of her team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Hartselle comeback. She hit three field goals and knocked down five out of six free throws.
Hailey Holshouser finished with 16 points while Alyssa McMinemon added 12 points for Hartselle.
Deshler (9-8) was led by Hannah Collinsworth’s game-high 20 points. She scored 16 points in the third quarter to power Deshler to the lead. She connected on five of her six 3-pointers in the third.
Carrington Hogan scored nine points in the second half to help Hartselle stay close with Deshler.
Holshouser finished the first half with 10 points to lead the Hartselle attack while McMinemon scored six, and Lillyanna Cartee had six.
