Lady Tigers drop second straight game with loss to Madison Academy

Hartselle, playing with six players for their second consecutive game, fell to Madison Academy 49-36 on Saturday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 13-8 first-quarter lead behind the play of Lillyanna Cartee and Emma Roden, who each scored five points.

Madison Academy outscored Hartselle 14-7 in the second quarter to take a 22-20 lead at halftime.

The Mustangs continued pulling away in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 27-16 to grab the 49-36 win.

Cartee led the Tigers (2-2) with 16 points. Gracie Hill added eight points, while Hailey Holshouser and Emma Roden each finished with five points. Maggie McCleskey netted two points.
