Danville’s Wren Cole commits to Wallace State

One of the best outside shooters in the area will continue his career on the next level.

Danville’s Wren Cole announced last Thursday that he has committed to Wallace State Community College to play basketball.

“I feel like Wallace State was the best decision for me and my family with it being so close to my home,” said Cole. “This opportunity means everything to me. I get to play the sport I love while attending college.”

“Wren is a hard worker, a great person, and an even better teammate,” said Danville basketball coach Scott Ellis. “He has invested a lot of time to get to this point. I couldn’t be more excited for him.”

Cole averaged 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game while shooting 49% from three-point range during his senior campaign. He helped lead the Hawks to back-to-back sub-regional appearances in his junior and senior seasons.

Cole chose the Lions over offers from Huntingdon College, Asbury University, and Coahoma College.
