Hartselle’s Sivley commits to Martin Methodist

Hartselle’s Tad Sivley announced April 27th that he has committed to Martin Methodist College to play basketball.

The 6-5 forward chose the RedHawks after being offered by their coaching staff on April 9th.

“Martin Methodist was one of the last schools to step into my recruiting process,” said Sivley. “They showed a lot of confidence in me and how I could make a difference in their program.”

Sivley was coached by Faron Key at Hartselle High School.

“Tad is a unique player with a terrific skill set for his size that made him a nightmare for opponents,” said Key. “I tell everyone that as talented as Tad is, it’s how hard he plays the game that’s his best skill.”

According to Sivley, coach Key played a big role in his recruitment and ultimately the offer from Martine Methodist.

“Coach Key talked to them and sent them film on me,” said Sivley. He made a really big impact on the whole thing. He helped me pursue my dream.”

Martin Methodist is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). They play in the Mid-South Conference.

Sivley also had offers from Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Sewanee University.
