Austin went on a 28-12 run during the second and third quarters on their way to defeating the Tigers 40-33 on Tuesday night.
Austin built an 18-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Tigers’ offense came alive in the fourth as they were able to cut the lead to four points. They outscored the Black Bears 19-8 during the final quarter.
Hartselle (2-2) was led by Masyn Marchbanks who finished with 18 points. Hailey Holshouser added seven points while Maggie McCleskey had five.
Austin (3-1) was led by Bri Hodges who had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Hannah Cohn added 11 points.
