Kathleen Wheeler Named 4A Player of the Year

Priceville’s Kathleen Wheeler capped off her record-breaking career by being named the 4A Player of the Year during the Alabama Sports Writers Association Player of the Year Banquet, presented by ALFA, in Montgomery.

Wheeler, a 5-foot-10 Samford signee, averaged 19.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals while helping Priceville to the Northwest Regional Tournament and a 24 win season.

She finished her career as Priceville’s all-time leading scorer with 2,044 points while also pulling down 945 rebounds. Her career averages were 16.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. She was named first-team all-state as a junior and senior and was a third-team selection as a sophomore.

Wheeler is the first-ever Player of the Year recipient for the Priceville Lady Bulldogs.
