Lady Tigers return to Northwest Regional

Hartselle welcomed Clay-Chalkville for a 6A Subregional matchup. The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Cougars 52-41 to advance to the Northwest Regional.

The Lady Tigers led 11-4 after the first quarter and 21-11 at halftime.

After scoring the first nine points of the third quarter and taking a 30-11 lead, the Lady Tigers saw Clay-Chalkville outscore them 20-6 over the final six minutes of the third quarter to cut the lead to 36-31 heading to the fourth.

Marchbanks opened the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to give Hartselle a 44-31 lead; however, a 7-2 Clay-Chalkville run cut the Lady Tigers’ lead to 46-38. Hartselle then closed out the game on a 6-3 run to win 52-41.

In her final home game, Marchbanks finished with 29 points to lead Hartselle (25-6). McMinemon added eight points, while McCleskey had six, and Hogan scored five.
