Hartselle’s Peebles makes First Team 6A All-State

Hartselle’s Brody Peebles has been named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 6A All-State basketball team for the second consecutive season.

“This is well deserved for Brody,” said Hartselle Coach Faron Key. “He is easily one of the state’s best players in any class.”

Peebles first-team honor is the first for a Hartselle player since Jay Knowlton in 1994.

The 6-foot-2 Peebles averaged 29.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.7 assists in leading the Tigers to a 27-7 record. He shot 56 percent from the field, including 44 percent from three-point territory, and he shot 84 percent from the foul line.

Peebles had 14 games of 30 or more points and four games of 40 or more points. He tied his career-high of 46 points in a win over Athens late in the season.

“I thought I grew a lot in my mindset and my play as the season progressed,” said Peebles. “I worked on being as efficient as possible and being able to score more on fewer shots and developed a mindset to attack and never sit back and wait.”

Peebles has committed to Liberty University to continue his basketball career after his senior season.
