Bob Jones took their first lead of the game, 55-54 with just over three and a half minutes left. They outscored the Tigers 14-9 to close out the victory.

“We let that game slip away,” said Hartselle coach Faron Key. We didn’t close out the first half and that gave them momentum heading into the second half.”

Hartselle (3-1) was led by Peebles who finished with 35 points while Sivley added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Bob Jones (4-1) had three players finished in double figures with Jalen Myers leading the way with 19 points and nine rebounds. Jaden Coleman, who sat out the first half, scored 18 while Jalen Jackson added 16 points and seven rebounds.

“I thought we made a great run at a good team who is tough matchup defensively for us with their size and skill,” said Key. “The big picture for us is that games like this will help prepare us postseason play that starts in February.”
